Kevin and Benjamin created their brand in 2011 in their hometown of Le Courégant in Brittany, specializing in carefully crafted outerwear. The fabrics come only from the best British and French suppliers and all the clothes are fully made in France.
Who are you?
Kevin and Ben, cofounders of the brand Le Courégant
How did you start in fashion?
It was mostly by chance, by getting a coffee for Kevin, and in Ben's grandmother workshop, when he was still a child.
We wanted both to create clothes we would wear, while trying our best to protect French craftmanship.
How would you define your style?
Simple and comfortable.
We travel often. We want to wear clothes able to follow us everywhere.
What inspires you?
During our travels, we have met craftmen fighting to keep their work authentic, farmers living two days away from the first city, designers making whole new plans for their city, baristas crossing Sumatra to find the very best coffee grains.
Whatever the field, we are drawing our inspiration from that kind of guys, who go all the way.
A few words about this collection...
Simple, clean and comfortable clothes.
Men wardrobe staples, suited for new urban lifestyles.
What are you most proud of?
It is not really proudness, but we are very thoughtful about the many people coming along the clothes creation process: fabric producers, workshop workers, photographs, retailers..
Where do you manufacture your products?
Only in France
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
An old tune from Django Reinhardt hummed by a cabinet maket in his workshop. The other image coming naturally to mind is a cheesecake in the Melbourne Nova Cafe. We draw here our first versions of the trench, on towel edges.
